Experience Making a Difference

Experience Making a Difference

Welcome to IVC Detroit

Are you 50 years of age or older and retired or semi-retired?  Are you looking to get involved and commit your time, talents and skills to help the materially poor?  The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) in Detroit is looking for new members to volunteer with the poor in these challenging economic times.

According to the 2006 American Community Survey (U.S. Census Bureau), 32.5% of the population in the city of Detroit lives below the poverty level.  While community agencies throughout Detroit do a remarkable job working to meet the needs of people who are materially poor, most will say that there are not enough resources to meet the needs.  Agencies increasingly look to volunteers to help fulfill their missions to serve people who are poor.  Ignatian Volunteers bring a lifetime of experience to their volunteer work and they are committed and spiritually supported by IVC and their volunteer community in their service.

We invite you to join us in this most rewarding experience!
