Experience Making a Difference

Experience Making a Difference

Welcome to IVC Minneapolis/St. Paul

Welcome to the Ignatian Volunteer Corps Twin Cities homepage! We are delighted that you have found us and are interested in learning more about our community and the opportunities we offer.

As a community of men and women who have completed their primary careers and are seeking meaningful opportunities to serve others, we are committed to responding to the needs of our local community through service and advocacy. We are inspired by the Jesuit values of social justice, spirituality, and community, and we strive to live out these values in all that we do.

Through our service placements, retreats, and other community-building activities, we hope to deepen our spirituality, broaden our perspectives, and build relationships with others who share our commitment to making a positive difference in the world. We welcome individuals of all faiths and backgrounds to join us in this important work.

Thank you for visiting our homepage, and we invite you to explore our site to learn more about who we are and how you can get involved.

To me, the faith-centered service of the IVC volunteers is a manifestation of the Second Commandment. This is ‘to love your neighbor as you love yourself’ in action, and it doesn’t get any better than that.

My name is Linda and I volunteer at Catholic Charities Twin Cities through IVC.  For the last four years I have been working with case managers supporting them from a mental health prospective with the clients they serve.   My role now includes supporting St Thomas University Social Work students and Metro State Social Work students and case managers from Catholic Charities multiple sites. We meet weekly to review client challenges and successes. We share clinical perspectives that help case managers support their clients.  We also provide educational resources through collaborative conversations related to content we provide each week. I see the work of Catholic Social Teaching present in all the work the case managers and student/ interns do each day. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to each week encountering the Holy in those who work and live out the mission of Catholic Charities.
