Encounters through Philanthropy

IVC is blessed to have several individuals and foundations who have given tremendous support to the growth of our work.  The Raskob Foundation is a benefactor that has enabled IVC to grow significantly by our being the recipient of a high impact three-year grant.  This award enabled us to rebuild a struggling organization and to expand our reach through a high increase in numbers of Corps men and women serving in our communities.

IVC Executive Director Mary McGinnity addresses the Raskob Board of Directors in September

IVC received a very special invitation to present an address at their meeting this past September.  The Raskob family meets annually and this year celebrated 70 years of the existence of their foundation which has supported Catholic missions and ministries in a meaningful and substantial way.  The story of their founding is inspiring and it has touched the lives of generations of family members in meaningful ways.  To read about their work and history click here.

Two IVC volunteers, J Langdon from New York and Louise Wright from Baltimore, joined IVC Executive Director Mary McGinnity  for this presentation.  J and Louise’s testimonies were tremendously inspiring as they spoke as to how IVC has been a transformational force both to them personally and to the people whose lives they have touched through service.  Click to read J’s and Louise’s powerful testimonies.

The men and women who partner with IVC through their philanthropy touch lives directly through their support of our volunteers.  IVC couldn’t exist without such generous benefactors.  For J, Louise and Mary, being able to share with this family the direct fruits of their philanthropy and to convey gratitude on behalf of IVC and the people we serve was a deep honor and an experience they won’t soon forget.
