“I don’t know what we’d do without our IVC volunteers,” says St. Rita’s principal Gina Olsen. “They provide high-caliber support of Catholic education in classrooms, on the playground, and in the library.”
IVC Partner Agency Catholic Charities’ Mother of Mercy (MoM) Free Medical Clinics is bringing better health – and opportunities for a healthier future – to Prince William County, Virginia, residents in need. The clinics – located in Manassas and Woodbridge – provide no-cost basic medical care to low-income adults who are uninsured or under-insured. “Our patients are at or below 300% of the federal poverty level, and the majority require interpretation services,” says Program Director Alexandra Luevano. “We consider ourselves their medical home.”
Anne Deisinger lives in Milwaukee and has been serving as an Ignatian Volunteer Corps member at St. Bakhita Catholic Worker House in Milwaukee since 2022.
Rosemary Balady was approaching a long-planned and much-anticipated retirement as a physician. As she considered what she wanted to do, she came across a story about the Ignatian volunteer program in her church bulletin in 2018 and was intrigued by the unique approach to service work aimed at enriching the spiritual life of mature professionals.
Conrad York is a dedicated member of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) Milwaukee region, contributing his expertise to Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. As a Marquette University graduate with degrees in Management Information Systems, Finance, and an MBA in International Business, Conrad brings valuable skills to his volunteer work.
