IVC invites you to celebrate the publication of Christine Marie Eberle’s latest book, Finding God Along the Way: Wisdom from the Ignatian Camino for Life at Home, published by Paraclete Press. The book traces the 2022 journey of 25 pilgrims—ranging in age from 55 to 84—who hiked a 300-mile pilgrimage across Spain as part of IVC’s 25th anniversary celebration.

IVC National Capital Area Member Profile: Anne Linton – Preparing Don Bosco Cristo Rey Students for Success!

IVC member Anne Linton has found a new vocation in retirement: working with the faculty and staff at IVC partner Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School (DBCR) to prepare first generation college-bound students with tools to succeed in the workplace, in college and life. It’s a great fit for her, having spent 37 years on the staff at George Washington University’s health science library, and as its director from 1998 until her 2021 retirement. She learned about IVC through a Holy Trinity parish bulletin announcement, applied, and immediately felt at home at Don Bosco. “They were super welcoming and eager to have me,” she says.

Called to Serve: A Reflection on Love and Action

Called to Serve: A Reflection on Love and Action

In the words of Dorothy Day, “What we would like to do is change the world—make it a little simpler for people to
feed, clothe, and shelter themselves as God intended them to do.” Her vision resonates deeply with the mission of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) in Milwaukee, where compassion meets action and service creates ripples of change.

Thanks, John! – Farwell to Regional Director John Green

Thanks, John! – Farwell to Regional Director John Green

In September, we bid farewell to IVC Philadelphia/South Jersey’s Director, John Green, who served the region ably throughout his five-year tenure. A social worker by training, John had come to us with decades of experience on the front lines, in both non-profit and counseling settings. Those skills were in demand in IVC, as he established relationships with new community partners and helped potential volunteers discern good placements.
