Three Service Corps Members were placed in late 2020. Meet Peggy, Mark, & Jerry!
PEGGY is a retired pediatrician and high school teacher. At Project PLASE, Peggy works with PLASE’s Health Education Workshop team to create presentations and locate community health resources for their transitional housing clients. “The most challenging part is the inability to be there in person and meet the residents. In a perfect world, I would also be meeting with residents to assist them with community resources.” Let’s hope Peggy, that our entire Service Corps (in Baltimore and across the country) can return onsite safely- very soon! Thanks, Peggy!
MARK Mark is retired from Catholic Relief Services. At the Franciscan Center, Mark is assisting staff in developing a business plan and finding support from foundations for a new social enterprise: “Good Soup.” Mark reports he is enjoying it very much! Thanks, Mark!
JERRY is retired from IBM. At FIRN (Foreign-Born Information and Referral Network), Jerry advises on ways to improve their management information systems to bolster funding decisions. Jerry is also looking forward to helping develop and evaluate new revenue producing programs such as social media marketplaces for small minority based businesses and a service offering for other similar non-profits to lower their operating and entry expenses. Thanks, Jerry!
