Ignatian Volunteer Corps members are mature men and women, generally 50 or better, who seek to share their time and talents in service to the greater Albany community, and are also open to participating in a spiritual development program that includes prayer and reflection in the Jesuit tradition.
Ignatian volunteers generally commit to one to two days per week, or the equivalent of eight to 16 hours each week, in a non-profit organization, parish or school that works directly with the poor and marginalized in our community, or in the pursuit of social justice. The service commitment is a ten-month period, from September to June, although volunteers may also be placed at any time during the year.
