Greetings from IVC St. Louis

Posted by .

The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) offers semi-retired and retired women and men an opportunity to serve others, to pray and reflect together as a small community and to grow spiritually.  Using the varied talents and professional life experiences volunteers commit to serve one or two days a week.

IVC St. Louis is a dynamic group of retired and semi-retired individuals who volunteer at organizations that serve people who are poor or disadvantaged.

  • Currently, 39 IVC St. Louis volunteers are contributing 12-16 hours of service at 25 partner agencies and schools throughout the St. Louis area.
  • Our volunteers meet monthly as a community for prayer, conversation and reflection in the tradition of Ignatian spirituality.  We celebrate Mass and special occasions together.
  • Also, a Spiritual Reflector meets with a volunteer once a month to talk about their service experiences in light of their faith.

The IVC experience is a powerful blend of spirituality and service, inviting the volunteer to grow while assisting with the needs of the underserved in our area.
