The only way to enter and exit the new parking garage on the Gonzaga campus in a vehicle is from the traffic circle in front of Forte Hall, where Mike Goggin’s office is located. For those new to Gonzaga, the traffic circle is behind the Walmart building on Eye Street approaching Gonzaga from the west. Vehicles are no longer permitted on Eye Street itself as it is now open only to pedestrian traffic. Pedestrian access to Eye Street is open daily from 7:00 AM until 10:00 PM through the pedestrian gates at either end of the Eye Street Campus. While these pedestrian gates might be closed, they are unlocked after 7:00 AM.
It is not permissible at this time to enter or exit the garage from H Street. The reason for this is primarily safety. Because of the high volume of pedestrian traffic on H Street due to the presence of the Walmart, and because it is only permissible to make a right turn onto H Street, all Gonzaga garage traffic is routed in the direction of the traffic circle on Eye Street. Except under very special circumstances, there is no longer parking on what was commonly referred to as the “tennis court lot.”
For the Evening of Gratitude, please plan to park in the underground garage and come up to the Eye Street pedestrian plaza by elevator or stairs. Walk to North Capitol Street to enter St. Aloysius Church for the 4 p.m. Mass or to Dooley Hall to enter the Commons at Gonzaga College High School for the 5:15 p.m. reception and dinner.
