Some of your best work may be after you retire!
The Ignatian Volunteer Corps of Greater Cincinnati welcomes those who are 50 or better to join us! We offer..
A Sense of Purpose…
The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) provides men & women, most age 50 or better, opportunities to serve others and to transform lives. IVC matches the talents of experienced volunteers with the greatest social needs of our time.
In the Greater Cincinnati Region IVC works in partnership with community organizations. Our volunteers provide substantive work to serve individuals who have slipped through this country’s safety net. Agency directors value our volunteers because of their level of commitment & experience. “We would not be able to do what we do without them.” MiMi Chamberlain, Executive Director of C.A.I.N.
A Spirit of Community…
What is unique about the Ignatian Volunteer Corps is that while our volunteers nurture others we nurture them. We provide our volunteers with training, coaching and the support community to sustain their commitment and compassion in serving those in need.
- monthly group gatherings, (sharing conversation, Mass, lunch and a book study)
- semi-annual group retreats, (one in November , one in May at the Jesuit Renewal Center with an inspiring retreat director)
- on-going support from the regional director
- and individual monthly coaching or spiritual reflection ….
Volunteers are strengthened in their Christian faith by IVC’s unique spiritual reflection program, rooted in the Jesuit tradition of Ignatian spirituality. Volunteers meet monthly with a Spiritual Reflector whose role is to listen and reflect on the volunteer’s experience in order to help that person move closer to God.
Find purpose and connectedness through the Ignatian Volunteer Corps. “The best is yet to be!”
