With over 100 new applications received over the springtime and early summer, we are heading toward a 20% expansion in the size of our service corps. Thank you for being part of the IVC community and for helping to spread the word about our mission of service, prayer, and reflection. Together, we have brought people from all walks of life together, fostering connections and creating positive change.
I am thrilled to share that IVC has made significant strides in expanding our reach. Our Virtual Information Session held on March 21st, featuring Fr. James Martin, SJ, garnered an overwhelming response. Regions like New York, Philadelphia, New England, Chicago, and our new Virtual Program saw a remarkable surge. We are busy accompanying our applicants through their discernment and placing them with service partners around the country.
Nonprofit organizations require significant help as people turn to them for support; the need is great and funding for qualified staff is tight. Meanwhile, retirement rates have increased substantially since the pandemic. This presents a tremendous opportunity for IVC, as millions of individuals are searching for meaning, relevance, and a chance to contribute while thousands of social service nonprofits are seeking to build their staff capacity with mature, skilled, and dependable volunteers.
Our 29th program year begins in September, and your contribution now will have a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve. Our IVC Region Directors have deep roots in their local communities and possess a thorough understanding of the area’s needs and priorities. Considering this tremendous surge of new corps members, your gift today will enable them to enhance their operations, improve service delivery, and develop sustainable strategies to meet the needs of the communities they serve.
I kindly request you to consider making a donation to the Ignatian Volunteer Corps today. You can make a secure donation through our website here.

- Planned Gifts: Consider making a lasting impact through a planned gift to IVC. By including us in your estate plans or designating us as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy, you can leave a legacy that continues to transform lives for years to come. - Have you heard about the Legacy IRA Act? The current IRA Charitable Rollover law allows taxpayers age 70½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA directly to a public charity without first having to recognize the distribution as income. Learn more here.
