IVC’s Call
God’s Invitation – Our Response: Building the Church that Heals

IVC members in service have increased 85% over the past five years and continue to expand.  In order to meet the growing demand for Ignatian Volunteers and to take advantage of the increased numbers of men and women seeking to make their retirement years full with meaningful experiences and service, IVC seeks to raise $3 million in additional funding to expand operational capacity and to support the launch of an important new partnership initiative with Jesuit colleges & universities.

Welcome to the Ignite Campaign!

It is with excitement that we enter our 25th Anniversary year. The Ignatian Volunteer Corps continues to grow to serve others and transform lives. Throughout the country, IVC has over 600 volunteers working with hundreds of agencies to courageously build a church that heals.

In this 25th anniversary year, our energy is focused on increasing the capacity of IVC to meet the demands of a growing community. This growth is about to be positively impacted by a new journey IVC has embarked on alongside Jesuit colleges and universities across the country.

The Jesuit College and University Partnership Initiative (JCUPI) is a direct response to Jesuit colleges and universities seeking to identify activities that enable their alumni to continue the Ignatian traditions rooted in their early college experience – “service, leadership, and caring for the whole person.”

The Campaign’s goal is to sustain the trajectory of growth of the volunteer corps, launch and fund the Jesuit College and University Initiative, and build operational capacity in key areas across the country.

This initiative is a direct response to Jesuit colleges and universities seeking to identify activities that
enable their alumni to continue the Ignatian traditions rooted in their early college experience: “service, leadership and caring for the whole person.”  This partnership will leverage the IVC program structure and resources with the academic institutions and enable the five pilot sites to strengthen their relationships with alumni reaching retirement by offering them an opportunity for service through a Jesuit‐initiated service organization.

Campaign funds will also establish an Advancement Office at the national level, providing and expanding the infrastructure to support the increase in volunteers and the accompanying need to identify more partner agencies where these volunteers will serve. Future growth will be supported by fundraising and agency partnership fees.
