Imagine IVC: A Bold Vision for the Future

Investing in Growth, Expanding Our Reach, Deepening Our Impact

Imagine IVC is a $3 million capital campaign designed to double our corps and transform nonprofit communities nationwide. This once-in-a-generation investment will allow IVC to grow strategically, ensuring that by the end of the decade, more than 1,000 corps members are serving across the country.

For nearly 30 years, the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) has empowered retired professionals to serve communities in need while growing in faith. Today, we stand at a pivotal moment—one that calls for bold action to expand our reach, strengthen our impact, and ensure that IVC thrives for generations to come.

Why This Campaign Matters

Every nonprofit has two kinds of fundraising needs:

  • Sustaining day-to-day operations—The essential funding that keeps programs running.
  • Strategic investments for growth—The bold action needed to expand impact for years to come.

For a hospital, it might mean building a new wing to serve more patients. For a school, it could mean adding a new science lab to educate more students.

For IVC, it means building the infrastructure to double our corps and serve more nonprofits in need.

Each year, we raise funds to sustain our current operations—recruiting and supporting corps members, maintaining spiritual formation programs, and ensuring nonprofit partners have the corps members they rely on.

But now, we must do something more.

How We’re Expanding IVC’s Reach and Impact

Our recruitment and service expansion ensures that critical programs can continue despite financial and staffing constraints. IVC corps members provide skilled, dependable service to nonprofits that need them most. Through strategic recruitment efforts, IVC will match hundreds more professionals with mission-driven organizations.

  • Strengthening existing regions with dedicated recruitment and placement efforts.
  • Expanding IVC’s Virtual Program to offer service beyond geographic limitations.
  • Growing into new cities where demand for IVC corps members is high.

By broadening our reach, we will connect more retired professionals with meaningful opportunities to serve—ensuring that nonprofits across the country receive the support they need to thrive.

Spiritual Formation and Community Building

IVC is more than a service corps—it is a spiritual community, grounded in Ignatian values. As we grow, we will deepen our investment in Ignatian formation, ensuring that all corps members, staff, and nonprofit partners are supported in their service.

  • Spiritual Formation
  • A dedicated leader to integrate Ignatian Spirituality across all aspects of IVC
  • Retreats and Prayer Gatherings
  • Expanded reflection opportunities to nourish corp members
  • New Formation Tools and Training for regional leaders and spiritual reflectors to sustain and grow our community.

By ensuring that Ignatian Spirituality remains at the heart of IVC’s expansion, we will cultivate a corps of deeply engaged, faith-driven individuals who are prepared to serve with wisdom, resilience, and purpose.

Advancement and Marketing Growth

To expand our corps and impact, IVC must also increase national visibility and strengthen donor engagement.

  • A robust marketing strategy to reach more potential corps members and nonprofit partners.
  • Expanded digital and traditional media efforts to amplify IVC’s mission nationally.
  • A strengthened advancement team to build deeper relationships with benefactors who are committed to sustaining IVC’s future.

With increased awareness and engagement, more people will be inspired to step into service—and more donors will be moved to invest in IVC’s long-term success.

Operational Strength for Sustainable Growth

A growing organization requires a strong foundation.

To ensure IVC can scale effectively, we will invest in:

  • National infrastructure and staffing to support regional growth.
  • Technology and operational systems that allow IVC to function efficiently at scale.
  • A long-term sustainability plan to maintain momentum beyond this campaign.

By strengthening our internal operations, IVC will be well-positioned to grow while remaining faithful to its mission and values.
