Albany IVC Begins Operations with New Volunteer Placements

Posted by .

The newly approved Albany NY Ignatian Volunteer Corps is now operating with agreements being prepared for the first placements of volunteers. The program has begun with placements at the Emmaus Catholic Worker House in Albany and the Residents Encounter Christ (REC) prison ministry program, Unity House in Troy, St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, Albany, US Committee on Refugees and Immigrants and St. Mary’s Health System, Amsterdam. There are several more placements available and a group of volunteers has been approved. Those persons will meet with the staff of possible placement agencies and observe the programs before deciding what their preferences are.
