As we reach the end of the IVC service year – I find myself wanting to write you an endless stream of THANK YOU’s. We have some celebrating to do!
- For your role in placing and supporting amazing men and women in service. Since March I have had a chance to meet over a hundred IVC volunteers – only a fifth of our Corps – and have been deeply inspired by their profiles, talent, dedication and love for IVC. I can’t imagine how I’d feel after meeting ALL our Volunteers! They are doing critical work serving the poor across the country.
- For your participation in our mission, as Ignatian Volunteers, partner agencies, reflectors, Regional Council Members, donors, supporters, and collaborators. IVC truely is a community of faith in action and all members play a critical role.
- For being part of our many regional events over the past few months. Events raise the critical funds we need to do our mission and bring together a community around IVC in prayer and celebration. That our events celebrate and honor people in our communities that are walking saints in their service to address poverty and social justice and bring healing to people who have been pushed aside is a graced way for us to celebrate together.
- And lastly, for your participation in our recent Challenge Grant. Through your amazing generosity, we were able to exceed our goal of raising $200,000 to receive the Challenge total of $150,000 from a national foundation and a charitable fund based in Baltimore. These gifts support our current Corps of volunteers as well as growth in our current regions and into new cities.
We have so much to be grateful for, starting with YOU!
