Virtual Volunteer Opportunities
Explore virtual volunteer opportunities with the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) and make a meaningful impact from wherever you are. Whether you’re living in a rural area, managing mobility challenges, located outside of our regional office geographic boundaries, or simply prefer to serve remotely, IVC Virtual opens the door to faith-driven service and spiritual community online.
Through IVC Virtual, adults 50 and older can use their professional experience, compassion, and time to serve nonprofit organizations across the country, all while engaging in monthly reflection and connecting with like-minded volunteers. It’s a chance to bring your gifts to those in need, without leaving home.
What Is IVC Virtual?
IVC Virtual is a nationwide extension of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps, designed for older adults who want to serve others but may not live near an IVC regional office or have access to in-person placements.
IVC members serve either in person or remotely using email, Zoom, phone calls, and digital tools to assist nonprofit partners around the country. Service can include tutoring, mentoring, administrative work, content creation, translation, grant writing, and more.
Whether you’re in a small town or major city, IVC Virtual allows you to live out your faith and values through service, wherever you are.

Why Choose IVC Virtual?
IVC isn’t just an opportunity to serve—it’s a community rooted in purpose and faith. In addition to their service, corps members gather each month for reflection and prayer, with the option of one-on-one spiritual support. This Ignatian approach to service—finding God in all things—sets IVC apart from other opportunities.
By bringing professional and life experience to their service, corps members strengthen nonprofit partners and help create a more just society. Many members tell us they receive even more than they give, finding deep meaning in both their service and their shared community.
There are many online volunteer platforms, but IVC Virtual offers something unique:
- Thoughtful Matching: We take time to know you and our nonprofit partners to ensure a placement that aligns with your skills, passions, and values.
- Experienced Members: Corps members bring a lifetime of professional and personal experience, adding real value to the organizations they serve.
- Spiritual Growth: Monthly reflection gatherings and retreats, rooted in Ignatian spirituality, help connect service with deeper meaning.
- Dependable Commitment: Members serve one or two days a week for a full academic year, providing consistency partner organizations can count on.
- Community Connection: You’ll join a welcoming group of peers who share your commitment to service, reflection, and justice.
