IVC Philadelphia/ South Jersey Volunteer Joe H is a mentor to young adults aging out of the foster system.  He helps them with GED studies and he also works with them to set goals as they begin their adult life.

In December, Joe was recognized for his outstanding service by the Philadelphia Eagles Football Team and was honored at a ceremony held at the Eagles headquarters.
Joe was runner-up out of hundreds of nominees and 10 finalists for the Eagles Quarterback Community Volunteer Award.  And his service site, Robin’s Nest, was given a $2,500 donation from the Eagles.  He was selected because of his selfless dedication and inspiring enthusiasm in mentoring young adults.

But for Joe, the highlight of the celebration came when two of the guys he mentors showed up at the ceremony.  Both men told Joe that if it were not for his support and continued encouragement they would not have completed the GED program.
